THE GIVEAWAY
Hop on over to Cornelia's webpage and look around, then
come back here and leave a comment telling me what colors you would use in your Every Which Way quilt that are different than hers. Are any the same? Oh yeah, and she didn't make hers in the colors from the pattern cover, so no cheating ;) Different background? Why/Why not?
You could win a pdf version of the pattern, AND these eight fabulous fat quarters!!! What could be better than that???!!
Winner will be chosen Saturday, May 10th at 12 midnight AK time. Perhaps by random number generator, perhaps by cat.
XXOO!

Woah sweet fabrics! I love those colorful stripes. I'd love to make that pattern in bright colors on a dark background, rather than a white one - although I love her color combos, especially the shades of green. Thanks for the giveaway and for introducing me to another great quilter!
ReplyDeleteEmily you beat me to it. I like the idea of a dark background too.
DeleteI'm surprised that nobody else has commented on this! I went to see Cornelia and her quilt at her blog. Im digging her greens an yellow-y oranges. I would use a different background though. I've been looking at the solid darker backgrounds, and think I would like a dark and dusty plum color. I think the brights would look fantastic against it.
ReplyDeleteI do like Cornelia's quilt on her web page. I think I would go with the white background as well, use red crosses and have the chevrons in greens, greys and aquas ala Bonnie & Camille style. :) Thank you for the chance to enter! The fabrics above remind me of exotic vacations! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhite background for sure and maybe some Dreamin' Vintage!!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted you to know, Eileen, that since you are a google+ member, noone but other google+ members can see your email address, which makes you a no-reply blogger.
DeleteNow, you know how much I love vintage!!!
Ooooh! Deep solid blue background, pink rose crosses, and the arrows in multi-green stripes! Thanks for making me drool this morning... Love!
ReplyDeleteHi! you are also a no-reply blogger, but I was able (I think) to send you a response. If you google how to use your old blogger profile in google+, people will be able to contact you.
DeleteI'm loving these ideas!! wow!!!
Youre a winner! Please email me at givbludplayhocky@gmail.com
DeleteI think grey would look great with solid colours, I DO love the white she used and used it my own quilts in the past.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great giveaway and the chance.
It looks beautiful in true colors (or at least I'm pretty sure that's what she used). I like the solids from the cover. Thanks for linking up while I hosted Anything Goes Mondays!
ReplyDeleteI love blues, all blues, so I'm thinking a very light blue background and then all the different shades of blue for the main elements. I may even consider an ombre effect! Thanks so much for the giveaway. Deby@So-Sew-Easy.com
ReplyDeleteLove Cornelia's version. I would most likely us a low volume background and either navy/lime green or pink/grey/yellow color pallet. I have been wanting to use one of these pallets recently and think they would look great in Cornelia's pattern.
ReplyDeleteI love the white background for a good contrast. I would make mine with blue, purple, orange, yellow and green. I love a rainbow of colors. (please excuse if this is a duplicate, the last one did not post)
ReplyDeleteI like the white background because it makes the colors pop. I would use pinks, gray, lime, and teals plus the small purple squares. This is such a lovely pattern and would be adaptable to any number of color combinations.
ReplyDeleteI would use bright primary colors on a white background for a baby version.
ReplyDeleteI have a bundle of ginghams that would look great in this - perhaps with a dark grey background. I also think it would look great in different shades of the one colour
ReplyDeleteI think I would try with a black background, so the colors would pop. I would use bright pink, green and yellow. :)
ReplyDeletecraftyccain@gmail.com
It would be great with 30's fabrics or it would be fun in tone on tone and all greens.
ReplyDeleteI would like to try a taupe background, thinking that may look amazing. Love the fabric. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteYou're a winner! Please email me at givbludplayhocky@gmail.com
DeleteI'd use a white background with rainbow colours!
ReplyDeleteI love Cornelia's pattern!
I would use a black background and shades of aqua and turquoise for the rest.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win this cool pattern.

I would make it in Christmas colors - reds and greens - with a gold background because you can't have enough Christmasy quilts. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLoved Cornelia's quilt but I'm not sure about the aqua coordinating with the other colors. It did have a nice calming appeal. I would go louder if I made this quilt. Probably orange, deep blue and maybe some ochre/yellow. For background, I might choose a soft grey or a mint green. Good question. svonfumetti at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this quilt pattern and I like the colours Cornelia's used, but I think I'd swap the yellowy green and orange for blue. I'd keep the grey aqua and yellow
ReplyDeleteI would make it with raspberry, gold, forest green, and light blue old fashioned prints on maybe a light green, or light pink background. :) Thanks for the giveaway! sarah@forrussia.org
ReplyDeleteI like the grey and purple but I would change the other colors to a dusty pink and something else (darker pink? blue-ish?). I'd probably leave the background alone, or maybe go for a very pale grey.
ReplyDeletejhunsberger (at) gmail (dot) com
I think I would use the same background, but do the blocks in varying shades of pink (light, medium, dark) for a pretty summery girl quilt :) A summery boy quilt in varying shades of blue would be equally cute!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Cornelia's version! Her colors are awesome. I think this quilt would be fun in some boy colors - something with lots of cars, trucks, and road signs would be super cute.
ReplyDeleteI would do a silvery gray background with shades of purples. Why, you ask? Because any one of my 4 children would love a quilt in K-State colors!
ReplyDeleteI looove her version....but I think I would use the Mirabelle collection...loooove the peachy colors!! Probably a light creamy backgound too.
ReplyDeleteCornelia's quilt is beautiful! She used a couple florals. I think I would use all florals for the piecing and a subtle green for the background. I love garden effects. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI like Cornelia's version. I would like to use red and aqua.
ReplyDeleteI love Cornelia's quilt. It's just gorgeous! I think I would try it with a pale grey background.
ReplyDeleteI like her quilt, but I would use a different background for mine-a pale blue or aqua. Then for the shapes I'd use a darker blue, a medium purple, and emerald green and maybe a bright yellow. I'd also probably go for smaller prints than she used, or tone-on-tones. No special reason, that's just what appeals to me at the moment.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous quilt! I would still use white for the background but I would probably use more bright colors in addition to the colors Cornelia used. Add red, pinks, blues.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
